How it works

A fast tipping flow that feels natural in the real world.

The flow is designed for short attention spans: no app install, no searching for cash, and a clear confirmation before payment.

01

Tap or scan

The customer taps the NFC band or scans the QR fallback.

02

Choose the tip

The worker profile opens with quick amounts and a custom option.

03

Pay securely

The payer sees the total and completes the provider payment flow.

04

Track it

Admins can view tags, worker status, payment activity, and readiness.

Built for daily service work

Useful anywhere people want to tip, but do not have cash.

Choose the audience to see how the same tap-to-tip flow supports each side of the experience.

A reusable profile that makes cashless tipping feel personal.

  • No app needed for the person tipping.
  • NFC and QR access point to the same profile.
  • Profile details help customers know who they are tipping.

Simple economics: the selected tip is allocated to the worker.

The payer sees the tip amount and payment-processing cost before they confirm. The worker’s selected tip is kept separate from any platform fee or processing recovery.

Operational control

One system for bands, workers, tips, and payout readiness.

The public tipping page is intentionally simple. The control layer behind it gives operators the visibility needed to manage real-world rollout without losing track of tags or activity.

Tag registry

Link each NFC band or QR code to the correct worker profile and deactivate it if needed.

Worker setup

Capture profile details and payout readiness before a band goes live.

Payment activity

Track payment status, references, amounts, and provider responses from one place.

Admin protection

Keep public tipping pages separate from internal admin and operator tools.

Trust and control

Controls that matter when a band is used in the real world.

TapNation keeps the public tipping experience simple while giving operators the controls needed for tags, worker records, payment visibility, and fallback access.

Payment clarity

Make the payment decision understandable.

  • Show the selected tip before confirmation.
  • Show applicable payment cost separately.
  • Record references and payment status where available.

Worker administration

Know who is live and who still needs setup.

  • Collect worker profile and payout-readiness details.
  • Separate public profiles from admin records.
  • Use status views before scaling rollout.

Fallback access

Do not depend on every phone supporting NFC.

  • Print a QR fallback for each band or card.
  • Open the same worker profile in a browser.
  • Keep the customer flow app-free.

Buyer questions

Clear answers for customers, workers, and business partners.

Does the customer need an app?

No. The customer taps the NFC band or scans the QR code and the payment page opens in their browser.

What if the phone does not support NFC?

The worker can use the printed QR fallback. It opens the same worker profile without needing NFC.

How are payment costs shown?

The payer sees the selected tip and any applicable processing cost before confirming. The selected tip remains allocated to the worker.

Can a band be reassigned?

Yes. Admins can deactivate, relink, or reassign tags from the dashboard when workers change or bands move.

What happens if a band is lost?

The tag can be deactivated so the old NFC or QR link no longer points to an active tipping profile. A replacement tag can then be linked.

How does a worker get set up?

A worker activates their band through the onboarding flow, adds profile details, and provides the information needed for payout readiness.

Who can see worker and payment information?

Public visitors only see the worker tipping profile. Worker records, tag status, and transaction history sit behind admin access.
